The Role

Our client is seeking the engagement of an Actuary, at the APS5 level, to undertake a range of data, actuarial and analysis activities in order to fulfill statutory and operational requirements, as well as to inform policy and strategy development.

The Actuary will be responsible for:

  • Provision of data and analysis for reporting and public data sharing
  • Analytical work using statistical and mathematical modelling across a range of actuarial monitoring and analyses, tabulations and projections tasks
  • Analysis as an input in the assumption setting process for projections and const analysis
  • Support of project models, public dashboards, deep dives, policy costings and risk assessment
  • Analysis, understanding and manipulation of outputs
  • Extraction, cleansing and preparation of data from multiple sources

Skills and Experience

  • Proven actuarial/data analytics experience
  • Proficient Excel skills – model design, development and maintenance
  • Proficient programming language skills, including R, SAS, Python, Visual Basic and SQL
  • Knowledge or experience in government processes – budget, legislation, policy development etc.

It is a requirement of this position that the successful candidate must be an Australian Citizen.
