
Applications Project Manager

This high-profile university is seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional to lead complex IT Applications projects, including Salesforce, Workday Finance, MuleSoft integration, and other key reporting and integration initiatives.
Your brand new role will see you leverage Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project delivery methodologies, identifying risks, addressing issues, and leading a team in a fast-paced, complex environment to drive cost-effective results.
Key activities
- Lead and oversee IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring smooth delivery and tangible business benefits.
- Develop detailed project plans – define scope, milestones, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Engage with key stakeholders – collaborate with university departments, external vendors, and senior leaders to align business needs with project goals.
- Manage risks and issues – proactively address challenges, mitigate risks, and provide strategic solutions.
- Champion Agile delivery – drive iterative releases and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
- Oversee project budgets – manage financial forecasting, resource allocation, and vendor contracts to ensure value-driven outcomes.
Skills and experience
- Proven expertise in delivering large-scale IT application projects, particularly within Salesforce, Workday, and integration platforms.
- Strong leadership & communication skills – ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and drive consensus.
- Experience in vendor management – collaborating with external technology partners to achieve high-quality outcomes.Risk & issue management expertise – ability to assess and mitigate potential project roadblocks.
- Budget accountability – a track record of managing finances, forecasting, and reallocating funds effectively.
- Agile mindset – Agile certification preferred, but a strategic and adaptable approach is key.
- Relevant qualifications – A degree in IT, Business, or a related field, along with professional certifications in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, etc.).
