APS 5/6 Content Writer
The opportunity
Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have multiple exciting positions available for Content Writers/Guidance Officer’s to join the team.
12-month initial Labour Hire contract with the opportunity to extend. Multiple APS 5 and APS6 level positions offering $55.24 – $60.26 hourly + Superannuation. To be based out of their Geelong office.
This is a hybrid position offering 2 days working from home, with the remaining 3 on site. 37.5-hour work weeks.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Researching, drafting and updating internal and external guidance with a participant focus that reflects the Agency’s policy positions and meets agency’s plain English and accessibility standards.
- Interpreting the policy and legislative environment the branch operates in, including understanding and translating the NDIS Act and NDIS Rules into Our Guidelines.
- Developing or updating guidance material in response to participant and external stakeholder feedback.
- Understanding the key stages of the participant pathway, specific participant cohorts and technical processes within SAP CRM and PACE business system requirements.
- Providing service delivery knowledge and advice about procedural guidance, practice implementation and operational matters as needed to support an improved participant experience.
- Contributing to continuous improvement, maintaining best practice and innovation in the branch.
- Managing multiple priorities while maintaining high work standards, governance protocols and accuracy, meeting defined timeframes and performing other duties as requested.
About you:
- Australian citizenship is a requirement to be eligible for this position
- Experience as a content writer and designer with a focus on user-centered services and products
- Ability to interpret and draft policy and procedural information into clear and easy to understand guidance material.
- Demonstrated understanding of content design, including accessibility, inclusivity, readability, information architecture, content types and models
- Develop project plans, monitor project progress and manage priorities.
- Draft content for a range of written material including Our Guidelines, knowledge articles and Would We Fund It examples
- Use plain English writing skills to translate legislation rules and policy into audience appropriate content
- An understanding of user stories, prototypes and journey maps
- The ability to work productively with subject matter experts and stakeholders
- Experience working in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Abilities to adapt to change and pivots in priority
