Talent International is currently recruiting for an APS5 Fraud Investigator to work for one of our Federal Government clients based in Surry Hills. The position is a 12-month contract role with the possibility of extension. The role pays $55.24/hr + Super.

7.6 hours per day and 38 hours per week

The APS5 Fraud Investigator is a team membership position and is accountable for organising workflow and making independent decisions relating to an area of responsibility. The position will be required to provide policy advice within an area of specialisation, with advice based on policies and legislation.

The APS5 Fraud Investigator will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Utilising a Certificate IV in Government Investigations, or its equivalent, to support complex and sensitive criminal investigation activities in accordance with the client processes and the Australian Government Investigation Standards.
  • Conducting interviews, preparing statements and affidavits, collecting, securing and managing evidential material and confidential information.
  • Assisting with the preparation of cases and briefs of evidence for referral to relevant parties such as the Australian Federal Police and Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.
  • Representing the client and giving evidence in criminal and civil courts.
  • Analysing and processing information and producing accurate and informative reports.
  • Conducting criminal investigation activities in accordance with the client processes and the Australian Government Investigation Standards.
  • Contributing to changes in workplace practices and process improvements.
  • Assisting with the execution of search warrants, which may require domestic air travel and working extended hours, including overnight stays.
