Talent International is currently recruiting for an APS5 Legal Practice and Capability to work for one of our Federal Government clients based in Surry Hills/Parramatta. The position is 6 months with an option to extend by 6 months. The role pays $55.24/hr + Super.
7.6 hours per day and 38 hours per week
The APS5 Legal Practice and Capability is a team membership position and is accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to an area of responsibility. The position will be required to provide policy advice within an area of specialisation with advice based on policies and legislation.
The position will be required to undertake activities and tasks using business systems information where options are not always evident. It will be required to perform procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks that support and contributes to the client’s objectives.
The APS5 Legal Practice and Capability will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Understanding and working within the NDIS and ART legislative frameworks, ensuring adherence with statutory timeframes.
- Engaging with key stakeholders, including the Tribunal, internal and external lawyers and case managers, achieving work area and Agency goals by providing administrative and other support.
- Researching and assessing business system information, creating ART case summaries or work area documents including draft responses for ART correspondence, complaints and FOI requests.
- Managing and completing administrative tasks in fast fast-paced working environment.
- Contributing towards the continuous improvement of processes and procedural documents impacting the various functions within the team by providing feedback and suggestions.

- A paralegal or similar (law student / legal admin) background is highly desirable.
