The Opportunity

Our client is a community focused Federal Government Agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for an APS5 Project Support Officer to join the Analytics, Data & Actuarial Division in ensuring high quality data reporting and translating insights into measurable business performance improvements.

12-month initial contract with the view for extension, offering an APS5 hourly rate of $55.24 + Super, to be based out of clients Richmond office.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support for projects across a broad range of project management activities including, consultation, planning, scheduling, reporting and budgets.
  • Assisting with reporting on risks, issues, project outputs to stakeholders and providing high level support for regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
  • Liaising with other Project Support Officers to be a coordination point for assigned projects.
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders, third parties and vendors, understanding, negotiating and resolving issues arising within a project.
  • Supporting the Project Manager and other Project Support Officers in development and delivery of Supporting the Project Manager in developing and delivering project controls including risks, issues, schedules, change control and other project or program and reporting support.
  • Supporting software delivery lifecycle items such as scheduling and planning, development and delivery of project controls including risks and issues, schedule, change control and other project or program and reporting activities either as a support function or project manager as required.

Key skills required:

  • Demonstrated experience working as a Project Support Officer or Project Manager on large transformation programs
  • Strong experience using project management tools, such as Microsoft Project
  • Strong experience working with multiple project streams to generate a consolidated program level status report
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence administration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with defining and establishing program information architecture

Desirable skills to have for the role

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Experience with project risk management
