APS6 Cyber Security Engineer SOC

Opportunity
12-month hourly rate contract with 12-month option to extend. Join the Cyber Security Operations (SOC) team of a Federal Commission. Role can be based in Melbourne CBD with hybrid flexibility. Other CBD locations interstate available.

Australian Citizen’s able to obtain AGSVA Baseline Clearance are welcome to apply with fees covered by the Agency !

Role
This is a Federal APS6 level Cyber SOC Engineer reporting to the Assistant Director of Cyber Ops.

You’ll be responsible for deploying, tuning, maintaining the Cyber Controls Framework based on Essential 8 and ISO27001 standards. You’ll support a multi-year CSUP program (Cyber Security Uplift).

Key areas of accountability:

• Controls Framework Deployment and Maintenance
• Technical Controls Implementation
• Vulnerability Management
• SIEM – Security Incident Event Monitoring and Incident Response
• Security Operations
• Contribute to GRC, Security Awareness Training and Continuous Improvement

Requirements

• Strong experience with security protocols, intrusion detection and prevention
• SIEM (Splunk, LogRhythm)
• SOAR – Security orchestration, automation and response
• Nessum or Tanium for vulnerability management
• GRC platforms (eg 6Clicks, RSA Archer)
• Privilege Access Management (PAM) and MFA Solutions (Secret Server)
• Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)
• Australian Citizenship is mandatory, as is the ability to obtain a AGSVA Baseline Clearance

AGSVA Security Cleared candidates available to commence in December highly regarded.
