We are seeking expressions of interest from motivated professionals for upcoming APS6 and EL1 level opportunities in Canberra.

About the Roles
At both APS6 and EL1 levels, you will play a critical role in shaping procurement and contract management processes. These positions offer the opportunity to contribute to high-value, complex projects that align with government objectives and provide value for money.

Key Responsibilities
APS6 Procurement Officers

  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including tendering, contract negotiation, and compliance.
  • Provide specialist advice on procurement planning, policy compliance, and contract administration.
  • Develop and review documentation such as Procurement Plans, Request for Tenders (RFTs), and Evaluation Plans.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative frameworks, including the PGPA Act and Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs).

EL1 Procurement Managers

  • Lead high-risk, high-value procurement projects and strategic contract management.
  • Provide expert advice to senior management on procurement strategies, compliance, and risk management.
  • Supervise teams, ensuring high-quality outputs and fostering professional development.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practices in procurement.

Ideal Candidate Attributes

  • Proven experience in procurement and contract management within the APS or similar environments.
  • Strong understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Framework, including CPRs.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft complex documentation.
  • Leadership skills to guide teams and influence stakeholders effectively.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Government Procurement and Contracting or equivalent.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, procurement, or a related field.
  • Experience using AusTender, and other procurement systems.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Australian citizenship is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance (or higher).
