APS6 HR Generalist - Diversity Equity and Inclusion

Talent International is currently recruiting for an APS6 HR Generalist – Diversity Equity and Inclusion to work for one of our Federal Government clients based in any office in the NSW (Few office locations are Surry Hills, Penrith, Parramatta, Newcastle, Wollongong). The position is a 3-month contract role with the possibility of extension. The role pays $60.25/hr + Super.

7.6 hours per day and 38 hours per week

The APS6 HR Generalist in the Accessibility and Inclusion team is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies, and precedents.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Providing professional expertise, services, and guidance that contributes to positive outcomes for the Agency, OAAI and staff.
  • Anticipating challenges and assisting in resolving or developing solutions to improve outcomes.
  • Work independently or under limited guidance in relation to an area of OAAI expertise.
  • Making decisions, with support for tasks with considerable complexity and sensitivity for the Agency.
  • Managing complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve OAAI and Agency objectives.
  • Contributing to the development of team objectives and prioritising OAAI tasks, projects, and services.
  • Assisting with planning strategically longer-term initiatives, program and project management and policy development for OAAI.
  • Developing innovative initiatives and contributing to business improvement strategies to improve the quality and efficiency of OAAI services, projects, and workplace practices.

Essential criteria:

  • Excellent stakeholder management capability.
  • High ability to write well and succinctly.
  • Understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Able to plan, manage and execute projects and deal with competing priorities.

Desirable criteria:

  • Tertiary HR qualifications
  • Previous experience working in HR (especially Diversity, Equity and Inclusion)
