
APS6 Project Officer
The Opportunity
Our client is a community focused Federal Government Agency, currently seeking an APS6 Project Officer to assist with the Service Design and Improvement Group with ensuring quality process, platform, and practice solutions to address Agency priorities.
Initial hourly rate contract spanning 12 months with the strong opportunity for further extension, offering APS6 hourly rates of $60.26 + Super, to be based out of our clients Richmond or Geelong office with 2 days working from home.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing and managing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework.
- Providing specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
- Performing independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant project activities.
- Coordinating regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
- Preparing draft written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
- Monitoring project budgets, review and report on expenditure and assist with procurement and contract management.
- Identifying and assisting with the management of project risks, issues and benefits.
- Contributing to project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
About you:
- Australian citizenship is mandatory to be considered eligible to work for this Federal Government Agency.
- Experience supporting a team in a fast paced, changing and complex environment
- Demonstrated time management skills and attention to detail
- Experience supporting change, projects or continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience coordinating workshop and engagement/co-design activities and communications
- Demonstrated strong experience with MS suite
- Demonstrated experience with Jira or similar
- Demonstrated experience with Sharepoint document management and publishing
- Experience developing moderately complex templates and tools, continuous improvement activities and procedure/process writing
- Experience managing multiple calendars
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders
