
Business Analyst
Our client is an ASX listed technology company, delivering cutting-edge technology around the world. Due to a busy period, they require an experienced Business Analyst to join a high-profile project being delivered in the UK.
- Project running to mid-2026
- Excellent daily rates fully negotiable
- South Melbourne location, flexible hybrid working environment (1-2 days needed onsite)
- 6 months initial contract
The role
As a Business Analyst, your responsibilities will include:
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, even in uncertain and evolving environments, and collaborate actively within the Product team
- Translate intricate business and technical needs into clear documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories
- Serve as a bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, simplifying complex concepts to facilitate understanding and alignment
- Work closely with engineering teams to support the delivery of software solutions and the manufacturing or enhancement of hardware systems
- Partner with teams to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure alignment with the broader business strategy
- Lead efforts to identify and address potential risks and uncertainties during product development and delivery
- Facilitate retrospectives and other Agile ceremonies to improve team processes and ways of working
- Develop processes that ensure business solutions align with strategic objectives and industry best practices
- Provide input and guidance on the prioritisation of features to maximise early value delivery.
- Contribute to product demonstrations and support stakeholders in understanding the value and functionality of our offerings
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by reviewing existing processes and proposing innovative solutions
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
- A strong background as a Product Business Analyst in software and hardware development
- IoT experience, experience in a product based environment, or experience in producing requirements for software and hardware for devices
- Exceptional skills in requirements gathering and analysis, and documenting requirements for engineering and development teams
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation capabilities
- Ability to work independently, navigate complexity and handle uncertainty
- Experience with, and a solid understanding of messaging protocols including SNMP, MQTT etc will be highly regarded
- Be able to attend the office in Melbourne 1-2 days per week minimum
Please note that due to the nature of the work, you may be required to work flexibly with your hours (e.g. start late/finish late or do time in lieu) to accommodate meetings with international stakeholders. If selected, you will need to provide proof of Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency, and pass a national police and employment check before commencing.
