The client
Our client is a government organisation based in Melbourne’s inner south east. They have a great opportunity for a Business Analyst with demonstrated payroll implementation experience to join an HRIS transformation program and implementation/cloud migration.

  • Malvern location with 3 days per week in the office
  • 6 months contrct
  • Daily rate range of $800 to $870 plus super

The role
As a Business Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and document payroll and HR requirements including detailed end-to-end process maps for current (AS-IS) and To Be for an upgrade of the on-premise HR & Payroll system to a vendor SaaS solution
  • Lead and prepare work instruction documentation, as required to assist current understanding of processes and new process design, as required
  • Conduct data flow analysis to enable understanding of integration points and their purpose to identify improvements and opportunities to streamline processes by HR & Payroll system
  • Facilitate requirements workshops with business and technical subject matter experts, (SMEs), including system support, architects, cybersecurity, vendor and infrastructure teams as required
  • Conduct a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) if required.
  • Support the development of the Solution Architecture Design (SAD), ensuring requirements are accurately reflected in the design
  • Work with solution architecture to document integration and data mapping requirements for the HR & Payroll project
  • Develop test cases and support testing efforts to validate future state systems
  • Analyse the impact of changes on end users and customers, engage with stakeholders to understand implications, and assist with the communication and management of change freezes
  • Provide general business support, including conducting options analysis, impact assessments, gap analysis, and process improvement recommendations
  • Create Business Analyst plans in conjunction with Project Manager to support delivery of responsible artefacts within project timelines

About you
To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst for payroll and HRIS implementation projects
  • Experience with Aurion payroll implementation is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in data flow analysis, business process mapping
  • Knowledge of Australian payroll processes, legislation, EBAs (Enterprise Bargaining Agreements) and compliance
  • Excellent workshop facilitation skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively translate technical concepts into clear, non-technical terms for diverse stakeholders
