Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Business Project Manager for federal government agency for an initial day rate contract through to 31 December 2025, with options to extend. This role sits within the Service Design and Improvement Branch which has 2 streams for planning and operations. The teams are largely responsible for running projects related to the interpretation of a major policy reform, and the impacts to core front-line processes and systems – a legacy SAP CRM managed by a third-party department, and new internally managed Salesforce CRM with Service and Health Cloud, Lightning and Community portals.

This is a federal APS Executive Level 1 (EL1) position with budget in the mid to high $600’s per day inc super. You can be based out of our client’s Richmond or Geelong location with a hybrid working environment, with 2 days working from home, 37.5-hour weeks capped at 230 working days per year. Great work-life balance. Equivalent to circa $155-158K package p.a.

Role

  • Develop and manage project plans and schedules
  • Contribute to project design, governance arrangements and operational integration
  • Ensure project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget
  • Research, review, and evaluate projects
  • Report on project outputs to stakeholders and oversee regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports
  • Prepare and review business cases, project plans, reports and executive briefs and corporate documentation
  • Budget management, monitor expenditure, and oversee procurement and contract management activities
  • RAID – manage risks, issues, actions, dependencies and benefits
  • Analyse project performance and coordinating quality management activities

About You

  • Experience as a “Business” Project Manager ideally within federal, state government, aged care, NFP/NGO, employment services, disability or healthcare – this is not an ICT Project Manager – the team is the bridge between the Business Unit and ICT team responsible for system implementation
  • Ability to understand complex policy and operational front-line issues and interpret data to assist in determining root-cause of issues
  • Deep understanding of Project Management and ability to use differing project tools and methodologies (eg Waterfall v Agile, MS Project, Clarizen, PPM, JIRA, Confluence)
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and manage conflicting or challenging situations and stakeholders
  • Expert knowledge of Jira and Confluence
  • Detailed understanding of SAP CRM and Salesforce CRM platforms in relation to front-line support services
  • Detailed knowledge of NDIS or Services Australia operating systems, practice and processes – strong preference for government experience
  • Ability to work with multiple teams internal and external stakeholders – business areas, other departments, UAT, ICT.
