Corporate Systems Cost Modeler
Our client is a federal government organisation with offices throughout Australia. Due to growth, they are seeking a Corporate Systems Cost Modeler to join their team in their Richmond or Geelong office. This will be a 12-month initial contract with further 12-month extensions, 7.5-hour day, with a hybrid work arrangement.
About the Role
The client is undertaking major work programs to deliver innovative fit-for-need ICT-based solutions to improve their Insurance Scheme. The Corporate Systems directorate is part of Scheme Digital Platforms (SDP) and is responsible for planning and managing the OCIO vendor portfolio, defining OCIO vendors’ requirements, finding the best available vendors, and cultivating and maintaining vendors and stakeholders’ relationships. The Corporate Systems directorate provides advice to OCIO on ICT Investment to help drive Digital Transformation.
Duties
- Provide assistance in developing budget cost plans and forecast for the business case to support the program.
- Develop project cost plans and forecasts.
- Monitor and manage expenditure and examine areas where budgets and expenditure exceed agreed tolerances.
- Provide effective financial control for optimal decision making.
- Analyse expenditure (actual & forecast), examine variances and advises on options in the use of available budget
- Provide expenditure reports & briefs for OCIO leadership as required.
- Advise on financial planning, budgeting & costing for the project.
- Provide assistance in developing tender documentation related to the project procurement. This includes any project related ATM documents
- Provide analyse in vendors’ budget requirements to support the program.
- Provide reports & briefs for SDP & OCIO leadership as required.
- Provide effective financial control of the business case for optimal procurement decision making.
- Schedule & organise project meetings / workshops with both internal and external stakeholders.

- 3-4 years’ experience working in a similar role.
- Demonstrate experience in working in a federal government procurement team.
- Demonstrate strong budget skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate experience in hands-on procurement activities.
- Knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR) and PGPA Act
- Demonstrate competency in Microsoft applications, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
Desirable criteria
- Experience in project coordinator or business administration.
- Show competency in SharePoint, Confluence.
- Open to uplifting skills and adapting to new ways of working and tools.
- Comfortable with new ways of thinking about accessibility and enthusiastic about accessible design & development will be highly regarded.
