Our Client

Our client is a statutory authority charged with the management of an impartial and independent electoral system in Australia. In addition to conducting federal elections, by-elections and referendums, the agency is responsible for the management of electoral rolls, delivery of polling services, registration of political parties and education and public awareness initiatives.

Location: ACT

It is a requirement of this position that the successful candidate must be an Australian Citizen and hold a NV1 Security Clearance

About The Role

Our client is seeking to engage an experienced Cyber Security Analyst under their threat and incident response team.

Our ideal Cyber Security Analyst, will provide:

  • Collect of cyber security related data for analysis, evaluation, and identification of the root of the attacks against our client’s ICT environment and key systems.
  • Implement required cyber security actions to counter attacks and restore system operations.
  • Work together with the internal ICT team and business areas to communicate about security limitations and produce documentation or reports.
  • Undertake cyber threat hunting exercises and providing threat intelligence to the entire team.
  • Experience in cyber security monitoring within, or for, other Federal government entities

Mandatory Skills and Experience

  • Experience using Sentinel or a similar SIEM solution is essential
  • Familiarity with the Australian Government Information Security Manual
  • Familiarity with the best practice cyber security monitoring processes
  • Experience in cyber incident response
