Our Client

Our client is a statutory authority charged with the management of an impartial and independent electoral system in Australia. In addition to conducting federal elections, by-elections and referendums, the agency is responsible for the management of electoral rolls, delivery of polling services, registration of political parties and education and public awareness initiatives.

About The Role

Our client is seeking the engagement of a ‘Cyber Security Analyst’ to support hands-on technical expertise in a fast-paced environment to ensure the current cyber security capability within our client’s landscape is delivered to high value. The ideal candidate would be actively involved in coordinating with stakeholders, escalating blockages and championing improvement.

It is a requirement of this position that the successful candidate must be an Australian Citizen and hold a NV1 security clearance.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Collection of cyber security related data for analysis, evaluation, and identification of the root of the attacks against our client’s ICT environment and key electoral systems.
  • Implement required cyber security actions to counter attacks and restore system operations
  • Undertake cyber threat hunting exercises and providing threat intelligence to the entire team.
  • Assist in the development of standard operating procedures related to cyber security incident response

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

  • Experience using Sentinel or a similar SIEM solution is essential.
  • Familiarity with the Australian Government Information Security Manual.
  • Experience in cyber security monitoring within, or for, other Federal government entities
