We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join our clients team and help strengthen their security operations. This role is crucial in enhancing their ability to detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats, ensuring there systems remain protected against evolving risks.

Your focus will be on optimizing security monitoring capabilities, refining cloud security procedures, and providing expert-level support for security incidents.

Duties will include:

  • Enhancing their security event logging processes to improve visibility and detection of potential threats.
  • Establishing clear and efficient workflows for managing security alerts in cloud environments.
  • Serving as a senior escalation point for complex security issues, investigating incidents, and implementing solutions.
  • Leading the containment and resolution of cyber security incidents to minimize impact.
  • Implementing and improving incident response strategies, ensuring quick and effective actions when needed.
  • Working closely with IT teams to secure affected systems and prevent future vulnerabilities.
  • Conducting detailed forensic investigations to uncover root causes and support ongoing security improvements.
  • Continuously monitoring security alerts and system logs to identify potential threats before they escalate.
  • Proactively searching for indicators of compromise, unusual activity, and vulnerabilities across networks.
  • Keeping up to date with new cyber threats and leveraging security intelligence to strengthen defences.

Skills Required

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel and expertise in managing security event logging.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices across platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Proven ability to analyse security alerts, respond to incidents, and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Previous experience handling high-level security escalations and leading incident resolution.
  • Familiarity with security operations centre (SOC) processes and working alongside cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of network security, cyber threat detection, and risk management.
  • Experience in designing and implementing security processes to enhance response capabilities.
  • Proficiency with security tools and platforms such as SIEM, EDR, forensic analysis, and threat intelligence systems.
  • Strong grasp of security frameworks like NIST CSF and MITRE ATT&CK.
  • Industry-recognized certifications such as GCIH, CISSP, or equivalent (preferred).
