Capacity and Reports Data Analyst

  • 6-month daily rate contract + extentions
  • $700 – $830 per day inc super
  • Brisbane CBD location
  • Reporting and analysis of operational IT data

Purpose of the Role

The Capacity and Reports Data Analyst is responsible for delivering high-quality reporting and in-depth analysis to support informed decision-making across the IT portfolio. This role requires expertise in data analytics and financial reporting analysis to ensure accurate insights and recommendations that drive strategic and operational efficiencies.

By leveraging data-driven insights, the Capacity and Reports Data Analyst will play a critical role in optimising IT operations, improving resource utilisation, and identifying cost-saving opportunities across the business. This position will contribute meaningfully to enhancing overall business performance by ensuring transparency, efficiency, and continuous improvement in IT capacity planning and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop functional reporting to support portfolio and platform decision-making in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial reports to track technology spending, usage trends, and cost anomalies using Power BI.
  • Create data-driven insights and visualisations to effectively communicate spending patterns and consumption metrics to stakeholders.
  • Conduct comprehensive audits of all consumption-based technology platforms and services across the organisation’s IT infrastructure.
  • Analyse and document existing cost structures, billing models, and consumption patterns for various technology services.
  • Transform raw data into meaningful, interactive, automated, and user-friendly Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of implemented cost optimisation strategies.
  • Present findings and recommendations to IT leadership and stakeholders.
  • Partner with various stakeholder teams across business units (e.g., Sales, Finance, Security, Compliance) to develop necessary analysis and documentation.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, and financial tracking within an IT or technology environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and other data visualisation tools.
  • Experience working with cloud-based technologies, including AWS, Oracle, and New Relic, would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with IT cost management and consumption-based billing models.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
