Data Engineer

Talent International is searching for an experienced Data Engineer to join our government-owned utilities client based in Ipswich CBD on a 12-month contract with potential for extension.

// 12 Month Contract + Likely Extensions
// 2 Days WFH Per Week
// Ipswich CBD Location

The Role:
You’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures, enabling seamless data movement, modelling, and reporting across the business. You’ll help promote a data-driven culture, supporting business users in understanding and utilising data to drive innovation and smarter decision-making.

Responsibilities:
// Design and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes
// Develop and monitor data models, reports, and dashboards using tools like Power BI and Tableau
// Support CI/CD and automation across the data environment
// Ensure adherence to data governance policies and practices
// Provide technical advice on emerging data technologies
// Engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver business value

Requirements:
// Proven experience in data integration and transformation (ETL)
// Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (SSIS, SSRS), T-SQL scripting
// Experience with reporting and analytics tools – Power BI, Tableau
// Familiarity with WhereScape
// Understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies
// Desirable: Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake
