  • Richmond or Geelong location, hybrid with 3 days per week onsite minimum

The EL1 DevOps Engineer is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the functions of the client.
The position will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in complex problem solving and issues management within the functions. The position will exercise sound decision-making and judgement to produce senior level advice and support.
The EL1 DevOps Engineer is required to collaborate with key business stakeholders and our local full-stack team to enhance and support the development of projects within the client’s project teams.
The position is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the client to advance the clients’ interests across a range of forums.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Designing, building, deploying, and supporting the clients Cloud & Data Infrastructure.
  • Prioritise work items and add them to a work queue.
  • Ensuring that the solution follows integration best practices.
  • Work with business consumers to ensure desired business outcomes are reached.
  • Play a pivotal role in our project team, using an agile development framework.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define project requirements and set priorities.

Essential criteria

  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and services
  • Experience in building and deploying DevOps practices, tools, and continuous delivery pipelines such as GitLab, Artifactory, and Jira
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git and agile development methodologies
  • Ability to write moderately complex code across multiple languages such as Python, JavaScript, and Golang
  • Experience with containerisation, cluster deployment and orchestration such as Docker and Kubernetes

Desirable criteria

  • Database deployment and administration (Postgres and MySQL)
  • Administration of Azure Infrastructure
  • Experience with Networking, Cloudflare, Hashicorp Vault
  • Experience building and managing PKI
