Location: Newcastle, NSW
Contract: 12 months with potential for extension
Rate: $754.20/day + Super
Hours: 7.6 hours/day | 38 hours/week

About the Role
Talent International is seeking a seasoned leader for the role of EL2 Director of Service Guidance with a Federal Government agency in Newcastle. This strategic leadership position is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of key initiatives to enhance participant experience, driving operational excellence, and leading complex projects of significant importance to the agency.

The role demands exceptional decision-making, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills to ensure the successful execution of initiatives that have both strategic and operational significance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of strategies to enhance guidance materials, improving participant experience and agency/partner capabilities.
  • Ensure all guidance materials are high-quality, accessible, and align with behavioural economics principles.
  • Report on key deliverables and drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with national delivery priorities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to research, develop, and implement agreed policies, guidelines, and protocols across the service delivery network.
  • Represent the agency in cross-agency, inter-jurisdictional, and other forums to advance organizational interests.

Essential Skills

  • Strong strategic leadership capabilities, including business planning, priority setting, and performance monitoring.
  • Exceptional ability to provide strategic advice and resolve complex, potentially sensitive issues.
  • Comprehensive understanding of legislative frameworks, government decision-making processes, and agency guidelines.
  • Advanced skills in anticipating priorities, monitoring progress, and achieving organizational outcomes.
  • Experience managing diverse teams and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Proficiency in analyzing issues and contributing to policy formulation and program delivery.

Desirable Skills

  • Expertise in developing and interpreting policies in specialized areas, considering organizational and political sensitivities.
  • Strong ability to liaise, consult, and negotiate with government, industry, and community stakeholders on complex policy issues.
