Contract: 12 months with the possibility of extension
Rate: $602.55/day + Super
Hours: 7.6 hours/day | 38 hours/week

About the Role
We are seeking a highly capable EL1 Assistant Director – Financial Reporting to join a leading Federal Government agency. In this essential leadership role, you will manage complex financial functions, drive continuous improvement, and play a key part in ensuring the agency’s financial stability and transparency.

As a leader, you will oversee critical financial reporting activities, manage month-end processes, and ensure compliance across the agency’s financial systems and assets. You will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders, influencing financial strategy and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial reporting activities, including month-end inputs, analysis, risks, and controls, ensuring efficient and accurate processing.
  • Oversee the preparation of notes and schedules for financial statements, working closely with the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO).
  • Manage key stakeholders, including internal and external auditors and business partners.
  • Coordinate the Agency’s General Ledger close and reporting procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Take ownership of the Agency’s fixed assets register and oversee property lease contracts, ensuring accurate financial accounting entries.
  • Contribute to the development of financial policies, procedures, and strategic plans.
  • Act as a point of contact for negotiations and discussions, representing the client’s interests across a range of forums.
