End User Computing Engineer
The Client & Role:
We’re currently working with an Australian based financial services organisation who are looking to bring on an experience EUC Engineer for a 12-month initial term contract, you will be working in a pre-existing global team to deliver physical and virtual desktop services as well as EUC related change initiatives.
This role will be full-time with a hybrid work model, the client operates three days per week on site (Tue – Thur) from their Melbourne CBD office. Rate is up to $700 per day inclusive of super (11.5%). This role is looking to interview ASAP with an incumbent starting mid-Jan.
Responsibilities:
- Windows Desktop SOE management (including OS, Office and 3rd Party Application installation, patching & configuration)
- Provide 3rd Level Desktop Support and troubleshooting of EUC incidents and problems
- Regular upgrading and patching of desktop software to maintain currency and address issues with security vulnerabilities
- Group Policy (GPO) management for desktop and EUC related policies
- Troubleshooting and resolution of system performance issues related to Windows OS SOE functionality
- Software packaging and repackaging, which includes designing, installing and implementing of the application life cycle from discovery, packaging, UAT, deployment, support, documentation and process implementation for desktop applications
- Hardware and driver support for workstations, mobile devices and peripheral devices (e.g. laptops, monitors, docking stations)
- Provide an escalated level of support for Service Desk across the Citrix Desktop Environment, user profiles & remote technologies clients. Manage infrastructure-based issues to the Managed Service Provider, vendors, or SMEs for further investigation.
- Provide appropriate Level 3 support,
- Work with other support teams within IT Operations locally and offshore,
- Focus on meeting SLA and incident resolutions
- Proactively manage issues to define the root cause and recommend permanent solutions
- Ensure that all information-reporting requirements are managed effectively.
Required Skills & Specialisms:
- Current experience with Windows 11 needed.
- Proven experience in Windows Desktop SOE management, including installation, patching, and configuration of OS, Office, and third-party applications.
- Experience with application whitelisting (Carbon Black or equivalent) highly advantageous.
- Ability to provide third-level desktop support and troubleshooting for EUC incidents and problems.
- Experience with regular upgrading and patching of desktop software to maintain currency and address security vulnerabilities.
- Strong knowledge of Group Policy (GPO) management for desktop and EUC-related policies.
- Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving system performance issues related to Windows OS SOE functionality.
- Proficiency in software packaging and repackaging, including the full application lifecycle from discovery through to deployment, support, and documentation.
- Experience with hardware and driver support for a range of devices including workstations, mobile devices, and peripherals (e.g., laptops, monitors, docking stations).
- Ability to provide an escalated level of support for Service Desk issues, particularly within the Citrix Desktop Environment, user profiles, and remote technologies.
- Experience managing infrastructure-based issues with Managed Service Providers, vendors, or Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for further investigation.
- Commitment to providing appropriate Level 3 support and collaborating with other support teams within IT Operations, both locally and offshore.
- A focus on meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and resolving incidents efficiently.
- Proactive in managing issues to define root causes and recommend permanent solutions.
- Excellent information-reporting skills, ensuring all requirements are managed effectively.
