Governance Officer
Talent International is currently recruiting for a Governance Officer to work for a NSW Government client based in Parramatta. This is a 5-month contract with the view to be extended. The role is paying $58 to $64 per hour + Super.
Hours – 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week
The Role:
WFH arrangements are 3 days in the office, and 2 days WFH. There is also flexibility around whether they work from the Parramatta or Sydney CBD (Wynyard) office.
The Governance Officer supports the implementation and management of the suite of ethics, compliance, audit and risk management policies, strategies and governance processes for the client; delivering advice support and training on ethical conduct and appropriate workplace behaviours and promotes a culture of effective governance.
The primary purpose of the role:
The Governance Officer supports the implementation and management of the suite of ethics, compliance, and risk management policies, strategies and governance processes for the client; delivering advice support and training on ethical conduct and appropriate workplace behaviours and promotes a culture of effective governance.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide advice to staff on diverse corporate governance issues including the application of relevant statutory requirements, Government policy, ethics, conduct, risk management, compliance, and governance best practice.
- Promote a culture of effective governance by delivering training and other learning resources aimed at improving knowledge and assisting managers and staff with ethical conduct and risk management.
- Review and process internal reports, allegations and related disclosures, including undertaking investigations, reviewing and assessing public interest disclosures
- Maintain, Analyse, record governance information and data and prepare management reports, including reports on compliance and fraud and corruption issues.
- Undertake reviews, draft and maintain the suite of ethics, compliance, risk management and other governance policies and procedures.
- Support the delivery of the enterprise risk management framework and the internal audit function, including maintaining risk registers and providing advice on fraud and corruption risks.
- Provide secretariat support to the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) including the preparation of agendas, and minutes and the coordination and quality review of papers.
- Support the functional and administrative operation of other governance and compliance processes, as required.
Essential requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, industry certifications and/or equivalent experience in delivery of corporate governance, compliance, risk management and investigations.
