My client is a leading company within the renewables sector, based in Victoria with a growing presence across New South Wales, Queensland, and South Australia.

They are looking to bring on an experience Health and Safety Advisor who has the ability to support the wider HSE business requirements and offer advisory coverage while also supporting the site-based needs when required. This role would be perfect for an experienced site HSE advisor or manager who is looking to transition into a more strategic office-based position.

The role will require travel to regular travel to regional Victoria (Weekly) and periodic interstate travel as needed. A vehicle will be provided to the successful candidate.

Previous experience working on high-risk construction sites will be highly advantageous with a preference to Solar farms, High-Voltage electrical infrastructure or similar projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Lead and co-ordinate project audits, risk assessments and incidents investigations.
  • Provide HSE advise to wider business units and contribute positively through possible tender opportunities.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of safety through training, workshops, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Prepare and present HSE performance reports to senior management.
  • Manage and mentor a team of HSE professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices within the utility industry or similar high-risk industries.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to break down problems to understand them, prioritise and interpret alternatives and develop innovative, and creative solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience on High-Risk construction sites.
