The opportunity
Our client is a government organisation in the inner south eastern suburbs. They have a great opportunity for a Cyber Security Analyst to assist with BAU security operations during a busy period in the security operations team.

  • 3 months initial contract starting ASAP
  • Daily rate range up to $578 inc super per day
  • Hybrid WFH

The role
As a Cyber Security Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Daily monitoring of security events, logs, triaging security alerts, responding to alerts and security incidents using SIEM and various security tools
  • Analysing and responding with defined SLA to Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), TTPs and threat intelligence
  • Management of Phriendly Phishing’s automated phishing simulation campaigns and training modules
  • Assisting with incident response, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure prompt resolution and minimize potential impacts
  • Interpreting information assurance and security policies and applying these in order to manage risks
  • Assisting risk assessments, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and providing recommendations to mitigate risks
  • Maintaining compliance with standards such as E8, NIST, VPDSF, and PCI-DSS

About you
To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Previous experience in similar Cyber Security Operations/Analyst roles
  • Technical experience with tools such as Rapid7, Sophos, Mimecast, AD auditor, and Phriendly Phishing
  • Developed skills and knowledge of technology general controls and technical application control concepts
  • Understanding of Understanding of Victorian Cyber Security strategy, Essential 8 framework, NIST, and VPDSS
  • Knowledge of ICT Disaster Recovery, ICT & Business Continuity & Crisis Management and Cyber Security and Business Resilience practices
  • Understanding of, and experience with ITIL, general Microsoft IT infrastructure and support
  • Ability to manage time, set priorities, plan and organise workloads
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills suited to a professional environment
