Information Management and Records Specialist – Federal Government Client
Initial 6-Month Contract | $60-$70 per hour + Super | Hybrid Role

Talent International is currently recruiting for an Information Management and Records Specialist to join one of our Federal Government clients based in Sydney CBD with the option for hybrid work. This is an initial 6-month contract with a strong possibility of extension for an additional 6 months. The role offers competitive pay, ranging between $60-$70 per hour plus Superannuation.

Key Requirement: Must hold a current NV1 Security Clearance.

Role Overview:

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated specialist to lead and manage the agency’s information and records management function. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with the National Archives Act and other relevant legislation, while developing strategic frameworks for information asset management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of an information and records management strategy that aligns with the agency’s objectives and legislative requirements.
  • Manage information policies and coordinate the NAA Digital Check-up survey.
  • Oversee access to records and set best practices for managing both digital and physical information systems.
  • Provide expert advice on information and records management policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Train and support staff on the use of the agency’s EDRMS and other management tools.
  • Execute complex tasks such as data migration, classification, retention, and disposal of records.
  • Administer and ensure the security, integrity, and performance of the agency’s EDRMS.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on records management, including new record authorities.
  • Monitor and report on the agency’s compliance and performance in information and records management.
  • Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and information literacy across the agency.

Selection Criteria:

  • Qualifications and experience in information, records, or knowledge management.
  • Deep understanding of government recordkeeping regulations, including the National Archives Act and Australian Government Records Interoperability Framework.
  • Proficiency in managing EDRMS or similar systems. Experience with Content Manager 10 and Microsoft 365 is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to offer strategic and operational leadership in information management initiatives.
  • Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures in line with best practices and standards.
