Overview:
Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, managing, and retiring the infrastructure that supports digital services, including physical, virtual, networking, and cloud infrastructure. This is an onsite, full-time position based in ACT, requiring 40 hours per week with an initial contract duration of 12 months and the possibility of extension.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert advice on the strategy and roadmap for future-state End User Compute (EUC) deployments.
  • Collaborate with business areas and ICT Infrastructure teams.
  • Mentor and/or train junior SOE team members.
  • Design and implement proof of concept enhancements to the SOE environment, ensuring compatibility, security, and scalability.
  • Provide routine advice on the Standard Operating Environment (SOE), including dependencies, requirements, constraints, and potential performance improvements.
  • Participate in a continuous service improvement process to identify, prioritise, and implement improvements.
  • Scope major upgrades and execute major upgrades where agreed.
  • Review, update, and maintain currency of documentation, including design documentation, as-built documentation/current state documentation, and support process documentation.
  • Provide ongoing support for existing VMWare VDI infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
  • Maintain security compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Provide on-call support for critical incident response outside of standard operating hours.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Strong communication skills and a user-focused mindset.
  • Experience and strong knowledge using, configuring & managing Endpoint Management systems (e.g., SCCM, Intune, Workspace One).
  • A passion for continuous improvement and delivering human-centric solutions.
  • Ability to lead projects and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • High-level writing skills for briefings, policies, and technical documentation.
  • Must be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a Senior SOE position.
