IT Support Systems Administrator
- Australian Citizenship with NV1 clearance required
- Canberra based – on-site only.
- 12 months + 12 months contract.
Our client
Our client is a statutory agency tasked with the significant responsibility of protecting Australia’s national interests from foreign threats. As well as collecting and analysing foreign intelligence, our client provides information security services to the Australian Government.
The role
Our government client requires a Systems Administrator who will be responsible for the day-to-day installation, setup, and on-going maintenance and support of IT Systems, products, and related documentation for a specific program. The Program is a lower-classification on-boarding, training and work program designed to uplift analyst capability across the spectrum of the organisations missions.
The responsibilities of the IT support specialist include:
- Design and deployment of IT hardware, software and services as required.
- Account provision and general IT product support.
- Provide ad hoc technical advice and troubleshooting for end users
- Contribute to essential 8 compliance and security certification/accreditation related activities
- Systems documentation
- Communications Room/Desk Patching.
The skills and qualifications required for the role include:
- IT experience (software, hardware, network infrastructure)
- Ability to design and maintain IT system solutions
- Ability to provide day-to-day support to technical and end users
- Network administration (Switches and firewalls)
- Network Security skills
- Linux and Windows OS and server administration skills
- System administration
- Laptop Management (WDS and imaging skills)
- Good understanding of the ISM and ACSC’s “Strategies to Mitigate Cyber Security Incidents”
