IT Training And Communications Officer
The opportunity
Our client is a government organisation in the western suburbs. They have a great opportunity for an IT Training and communications Officer to produce and facilitate training for various technology systems, applications and hardware on behalf of the IT Services department.
- 3 months initial contract starting ASAP, potential for extensions
- Hourly rate of $51.26 plus super
- Hybrid working arrangements, Werribee location
The role
As the IT Training and communications Officer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Plan the development and delivery of new technology training initiatives
- Engage internal stakeholders to successfully plan and deliver technical training initiatives
- Liaise with system vendors to successfully plan and deliver technical training initiatives
- Develop support collateral i.e. Quick reference guides, work instructions etc. as needed for system users based on supplied technical system documentation
- Review and update new and existing Technical training collateral for quality, relevance and currency
- Plan, schedule and facilitate introductory System and Technology training for new staff as part of onboarding
- Develop and facilitate individual and group training via relevant channels ie. Classroom, MS Teams and self-paced e-learning
- Work collaboratively with the delivery teams and other internal stakeholder groups to provide feedback on staff use of new systems and concerns, assisting them to respond
- Support onboarding of new staff through introductory systems training
- Create, support and maintain key partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders to ensure training and communication collateral maintains its relevance and currency
- Work with teams and individuals to bring them along with the change to support the sustainment of system implementation/changes
- Apply a continuous feedback, learning and improvement loop to everything you do
- Facilitate the development and delivery of targeted and organisation-wide, pro-active & reactive communications on behalf of the Department
- Develop and maintain a Communications Plan, communications templates and communications tracking sheet for technology project changes
- Update and maintain Department intranet site
About you
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications such as Cert IV Workplace Training and Assessment or similar
- Demonstrated experience in an IT or systems training role/s (expected minimum 2+ years)
- Experience in the development, delivery and review of training programs, and the creation of supporting materials and instructional documentation, including eLearning
- Experience with Adobe Captivate eLearning software or similar
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Available to start at short notice – aiming for a December start
