
Junior Test Analyst - Data
Our client is a federal government organisation with offices throughout Australia. Due to growth, they are seeking Junior Test Analyst with Data Platforms testing experience to join their team in their Richmond or Geelong office. This will be a 12-month initial contract with a further 12-month extensions, 37.5-hour week and ssubject to negotiations with the line manager, hybrid working arrangements in line with current client policy are available (minimum of 3 days each week in the office, with flexible arrangements in place for the remaining 2 days).
About the team
The Data and Insurance Branch supports the Agency by providing high quality data and reporting and translating insights into measurable business performance improvements. It focuses on delivering data and reporting while building data literacy capability across the branch and regions.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Responding to data requests and working within agreed timeframes.
- Supporting continuous improvement projects, mapping current processes and engaging with business areas to identify efficiencies.
- Participating with supervision in testing of participant and provider digital tools including and providing support for planning, preparing and delivering testing through the various testing lifecycles user acceptance testing (UAT) Build Verification Testing (BVT) for product releases.
- Supporting and engaging in quality management and testing assurance activities through the preparation and review of test strategies, plans, accessible test scripts, and coverage matrices.
- Supporting participants and their representatives; and registered providers to undertake UAT and BVT.
- Preparing consistent, accurate and timely reports on performance, trends and workload management, interpreting data for operational information and reporting.
- Supporting business areas to document and refine operating procedures and processes.
To apply for this opportunity, you will need as following level of experience:
Essential criteria
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in testing, and minimum of one year experience in testing analytics and reporting platforms/tools (e.g. SQL-Server, SAS, Tableau, PowerBI, SAS VA, etc)
- Exposure and hands-on experience on data-intensive projects/initiatives and sound understanding of software development life cycle and project life cycle
- Hands-on experience on testing data platforms integrating with analytics and reporting tools and relational databases
- Medium to advanced SQL skills.
- Ability to work closely and effectively collaborate with project managers, business users and partners, interfacing teams, software development team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desirable criteria
- Exposure to use of JIRA as a task and defect management tool
- Great analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Sound knowledge and experience in writing test plan and test cases
- Adaptability to both teamwork and autonomous work, time management and self-motivation.
