Job Title: Junior to Intermediate DevOps Engineer – Contract

Salary: $500-$650 per day
Clearance: Australian Citizen (Baseline clearance preferred)


Position Overview:
We are seeking a Junior to Intermediate DevOps Engineer for a contract position to support the orchestration of CI/CD automation and infrastructure as code (IaC) processes across multi-cloud environments. This role will focus on expanding application CI/CD pipelines, leveraging tools such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, and Ansible, and developing reusable infrastructure and CI/CD patterns. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve self-service workflows, scalability, and automated governance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement CI/CD automation processes for both application and infrastructure pipelines across multi-cloud environments.
  • Utilize tools like Azure DevOps, Terraform, and Ansible to design, implement, and scale CI/CD pipelines and IaC.
  • Collaborate with teams to build self-service workflows, automated governance controls, and reusable application infrastructure patterns.
  • Integrate security scanning (e.g., unit testing frameworks, jFrog Artifactory, SonarQube) into DevOps pipelines.
  • Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell and Bash scripting to increase operational efficiency.
  • Create and manage metrics dashboards, quality gates, and monitoring tools to ensure high reliability and performance standards.
  • Contribute to Agile methodologies for iterative development and continuous improvement practices.
  • Document technical processes and best practices for collaborative engagement with cross-functional teams.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of DevOps and IaC technologies, with hands-on experience in Azure DevOps, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Certification in Azure DevOps and Terraform is a must.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell and Bash.
  • Experience in CI/CD pipeline integration, including application and infrastructure security scanning stages.
  • Background in software development or engineering.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly through documentation and discussions.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and iterative development practices.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept development.
  • Understanding of ISM controls and the Essential Eight security principles.
  • Experience working with C4E and CoE frameworks is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Australian Citizenship is required; Baseline clearance is preferred but not mandatory for eligible candidates.
  • Must be willing to work collaboratively with diverse teams to enhance engineering tools, systems, and data security measures.
