Lab Supervisor

The response is after an experienced candidate with the following requirements and knowledge:

– the essential skills and experience needed for a lab supervisor include:

• A minimum of five years’ experience working in a lab, especially sample analysis and reporting functionality.
• Experience of working in a supervisory capacity, including managing resource capabilities.
• Experience in managing staff with multi-disciplinary roles and responsibilities.
• Experience in contract management and service delivery with external stakeholders.
• Experience in emergency incidence responses, government structures and processes.
• Advanced communication and administrative skills.
• Provides assistance with the collation and routine analysis of diagnostic results.
• Provides laboratory expertise into strategic planning and other planning processes.
• Develops and maintains effective relationships with relevant staff members.
• Assists with the training of casual technical staff as required.
• Contributes to the development and implementation of the PSHB response.
• Undertakes emergency response duties as required.
• Knowledge of laboratory techniques, scientific standards, analytical and reporting procedures.
• Experience in contract management and service delivery.
• Demonstrable ability to think strategically.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary staff management.
• Bachelor degree in relevant discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
