Lead Test Automation Expert
Opportunity
Are you a thought-leader in test automation? Looking to take ownership of a large federal Agency’s test automation strategy? This is a strategic yet hands-on role where you can work with the QA team, PM’s, Developers, Architects, and BA’s to select the right tool and scripting language for a number projects and programs.
You’ll influence key decisions around automation and drive continuous improvement, but also jump-in “hands-on” as a Test Automation Engineer to develop the frameworks, write scripts, execute, manage risks and lead from the front.
This is a long-term day rate contract (3+ years), reporting to the Test Director looking after a Federal Agency’s major platforms. This challenging, fast-paced opportunity can be based in any capital city with hybrid workplace flexibility and a Market Day Rate on offer.
You’ll be working with JIRA, X-Ray, Playwright, Selenium, Postman, Appium to name a few whilst keeping abreast of the latest tools, testing approaches like shift-left, and work on a variety of systems and apps including Salesforce, API’s, mobile and digital apps, Power BI, JIRA Confluence etc.
You’ll be automating Front-End UI, API and backend testing, an interest in Accessibility or WCAG (Jaws etc) highly regarded.
Role
- Evaluate and recommend automation tools and scripting languages based on project needs which are fit-for-purpose
- Design and implement multiple automation test frameworks
- Set standards and reviews across the team
- Hands-on automation testing
- Risk and issues management
- Drive continuous improvement
- Mentor and lead the mid-large sized test team on automation
Requirements
- Australian Citizen with ability to obtain AGSVA Baseline – Mandatory
- Expert in test automation with 2-3+ years in a Lead/Senior Automation role where you have reviewed and selected tools and then implemented them for a number of projects and platforms
- Experience in front-end, API, mobile and back-end testing, performance testing nice to have
- Expertise in modern testing methodologies and frameworks – eg Shift-Left
- Deep experience in Agile ways of working
- MUST have experience in large enterprise corporate environments or government running multiple platforms, technology, and programs.
