Package Lead – Battery Electric Locomotive Project
Location: Redcliffe & Hazelmere, WA

Are you an experienced engineering professional with a passion for leading complex technical projects? Our client is seeking a Package Lead to join their Battery Electric Locomotive (BEL) Project, based at their Redcliffe and Hazelmere R&D facilities. Reporting to the Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM), you will play a crucial role in driving the successful execution of engineering packages within this cutting-edge initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day engineering tasks, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Monitor project progress, addressing any issues or delays to maintain on-track execution.
  • Develop detailed work plans for technical packages in collaboration with technical stakeholders and contribute to integrated engineering schedules and progress tracking.
  • Streamline engineering processes and workflows, identifying and implementing solutions for inefficiencies.
  • Provide consolidated inputs from product and system teams to overall project planning and reporting.
  • Assist Project Managers in earned value analysis and program budget tracking.
  • Plan and facilitate technical workshops and stakeholder consultations as required by the CPE, EDM, and System Leads.
  • Prepare engineering progress reports, milestone documentation, and gateway approvals in coordination with technical teams.
  • Serve as the engineering system team’s primary point of contact for interactions with build and test, quality assurance, and other key stakeholders.
  • Escalate risks and issues promptly to the EDM and CPE.
  • Facilitate technical conflict resolution among stakeholders.

About You

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering operations or project management.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong interdisciplinary technical understanding.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
