Package Lead – Battery Electric Locomotive Project

Are you an experienced engineering professional with a passion for leading complex technical projects? Our client is seeking a Package Lead to join their Battery Electric Locomotive (BEL) Project, based at their Redcliffe and Hazelmere R&D facilities. Reporting to the Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM), you will play a crucial role in driving the successful execution of engineering packages within this cutting-edge initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day engineering tasks, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor project progress, addressing any issues or delays to maintain on-track execution.
- Develop detailed work plans for technical packages in collaboration with technical stakeholders and contribute to integrated engineering schedules and progress tracking.
- Streamline engineering processes and workflows, identifying and implementing solutions for inefficiencies.
- Provide consolidated inputs from product and system teams to overall project planning and reporting.
- Assist Project Managers in earned value analysis and program budget tracking.
- Plan and facilitate technical workshops and stakeholder consultations as required by the CPE, EDM, and System Leads.
- Prepare engineering progress reports, milestone documentation, and gateway approvals in coordination with technical teams.
- Serve as the engineering system team’s primary point of contact for interactions with build and test, quality assurance, and other key stakeholders.
- Escalate risks and issues promptly to the EDM and CPE.
- Facilitate technical conflict resolution among stakeholders.
About You
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering operations or project management.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Strong interdisciplinary technical understanding.
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
