Principal Water and Wastewater Engineer - Perth - Contract

Join a leading energy company in Perth CBD as a Principal Water and Wastewater Engineer. This role is central to delivering exceptional outcomes in water supply, treatment, wastewater management, and discharge projects. Your expertise will ensure that designs and project execution align with the companies and Australian standards, as well as project-specific safety, quality, and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise in water engineering for various studies and projects.
- Assist in designing water treatment and reuse systems, including reverse osmosis systems.
- Participate in water treatment process design and wastewater management, covering:
- Water and wastewater quality analysis.
- Development of mass balances, PFDs, and P&IDs.
- Chemical dosing system design.
- Sizing and specification of water and wastewater treatment equipment.
- Prepare detailed design reports, technical specifications, and recommendations.
- Develop water management strategies and review water management plans across project lifecycles.
- Advise on water treatment challenges affecting design, construction, and maintenance.
- Develop and review water quality sampling programs for treatment design.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including engineers, consultants, utility providers, and authorities.
- Ensure compliance with the companies standards, regulatory requirements, and permitting conditions.
- Maintain effective communication with project teams and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Over 15 years of experience in water engineering, spanning feasibility, construction, and commissioning.
- Expertise in chemical water and wastewater treatment processes, including desalination and ultra-pure water production.
- Proven ability in process design, equipment selection, and infrastructure planning.
- Strong knowledge of Australian regulations and familiarity with international standards.
- Exceptional problem-solving, data management, and communication skills.
- Experience liaising with contractors, vendors, and consultants during all project phases.
- Right to work in Australia.
