Our Client

Our client is a federal department which is instrumental in the development and implementation of policies and programs to ensure Australia’s farming, fisheries, food, and forestry industries remain sustainable, profitable, and competitive, and supports the sustainable and productive use of water resources. They employ approximately 5000 staff across offices, airports, mail centres, shipping ports, laboratories and abattoirs in capital cities, regional centres, and rural communities nationwide.

The Role

This role is vital to ensure that potential program risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively, thereby safeguarding the program’s objectives and benefits realisation. The risk manager must bring expertise in developing and implementing risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining open communication and accountability across stakeholders. They must also promote a culture of risk awareness within the broader organization.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong track record as a Risk Manager for a large scale digital transformational program
  • Ability to analyze complex data and identify potential risks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to develop effective risk mitigation strategies
  • A proven track record of implementing risk awareness and management across multiple agile and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Thoroughness in documenting and monitoring risk management processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey risk-related information clearly.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and emerging risks.
  • Familiarity with contemporary risk management software and tools.
  • An outstanding communicator that can effectively influence with or without authority
  • Ability to present complex information to stakeholders in an understandable manner.

It is a requirement of this position that the successful candidate must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
