Our client is embarking on a transformative initiative to enhance the student and stakeholder experience through innovative technology solutions. As part of this journey, they are seeking a Salesforce Tech Lead with strong hands-on expertise in Salesforce Education Cloud and significant experience working within or alongside higher education institutions. This role will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying Salesforce-based solutions that support the full student lifecycle-from recruitment and admissions to student success and alumni engagement. The successful candidate will contribute to shaping a digital campus experience and must demonstrate a strong foundation in solution architecture and a collaborative, education-focused mindset. Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical lead for the university’s Salesforce initiatives, particularly those built on Education Cloud and EDA.
  • Partner with campus units including Admissions, Student Services, Advancement, and Academic Affairs to gather requirements and deliver robust, user-centered solutions.
  • Architect and develop scalable solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and declarative tools.
  • Design integrations with university systems such as Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), Financial Aid, and Identity Management platforms.
  • Lead technical design reviews, ensure code quality through peer review, and oversee development best practices.
  • Drive data migration strategies and system integrations, ensuring data consistency and compliance with university data governance policies.
  • Mentor internal developers and partner with functional leads to support capacity building across the university.
  • Contribute to the university’s CRM governance model and help shape its long-term CRM strategy.
  • Stay abreast of new Salesforce releases and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on the university ecosystem.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • At least 5 years of Salesforce development/architecture experience, with a minimum of 2 years on Education Cloud/EDA.
  • Demonstrated experience leading Salesforce implementation projects in a university or higher education setting.
  • Strong knowledge of higher education processes, including student recruitment, admissions, enrolment, advising, retention, and alumni relations.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce development (Apex, LWC, SOQL) and experience with APIs and integration tools.
  • Hands-on experience with integrations involving SIS platforms (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft, Ellucian) and LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas, Moodle).
  • Salesforce certifications such as:

– Salesforce Platform Developer I
– Education Cloud Consultant (preferred)
– Application Architect or System Architect (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Salesforce Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud for student recruitment, or Advising/Success Hub.
  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment and with DevOps tooling (CI/CD, Git, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences in a higher ed environment.
  • Commitment to inclusive excellence and understanding of how technology supports equity in education.
