Role Overview: We are seeking a Security Analyst to join our Technology Security team. This role is pivotal in materially uplifting our technology security operations capabilities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving innovation and resilience within our systems to stay ahead of potential risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, analyse, triage, mitigate, and remediate security events.
  • Respond to ad-hoc security incidents and service requests.
  • Manage daily and weekly security checks, updating and improving them as required.
  • Document incident and event information and produce relevant reports.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for the Agency’s security controls.
  • Assist with identifying vulnerabilities and ensuring patch currency in accordance with Agency standards.
  • Support the Agency’s Essential 8 and ISM compliance efforts.
  • Participate in security uplift projects and support the delivery of the Agency Technology Team strategic priorities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated relevant experience as a qualified security professional.
  • Good understanding of the TCP/IP stack, networking concepts, Windows operating systems, event logs analysis, SIEMs, vulnerability assessment tools, endpoint protection, and other security-related technologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and third-party certifications, e.g., ISM, ISO27001.
  • Current security certification (e.g., Security+) is desirable.
  • Degree from an accredited university is desirable.
