Senior Change & Communications Manager
Join this leading University within a large key Portfolio to enable effective engagement with, and adoption of new processes and technical enhancements to their student management system.
There are two projects that the new Change and Communications Manager will work concurrently, the first project will look at the introduction of a new user-friendly student portal. The second project is the migration of their student management system to a standard SaaS environment.
Key activities
- Develop change management planning assets including change canvas, change impact assessments and stakeholder matrices for projects
- Simplify complex technical information to create engaging content to achieve awareness, acceptance and adoption of changes that will affect all stakeholders
- Lead the delivery of project communications assets, including email communications, briefings, staff presentations, maintaining project websites, newsletters etc
- Plan for successful implementation of training including documentation for new systems such as user reference guides and short demo videos with the support of an instructional designer.
- Build, manage and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders and teams
- Measure the impact of communications and collect qualitative feedback from stakeholders
- Monitor and support the realisation of the benefits of the project including measurement of project KPIs
Skills and experience
- Strong background in change management and communications withing the higher education sector
- Good understanding of change management principles and theories and their application
- Previous experience in working on IT or digital projects
- Demonstrated experience in working on a variety of communication channels, both formal and informal, including digital
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, with a demonstrated ability to convey information to and build rapport with stakeholders.
- Experience evaluating readiness and in developing readiness and training/learning plans
- Demonstrated experience in effective stakeholder management and engagement, particularly of senior leaders and executives
- Experienced in end-user engagement and co-design of change approaches
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement to support the development of new approaches to resolve complex issues with diverse stakeholders
