Senior Cloud Network Engineer

Our Client

Our client is a statutory authority charged with the management of an impartial and independent electoral system in Australia. In addition to conducting federal elections, by-elections and referendums, the agency is responsible for the management of electoral rolls, delivery of polling services, registration of political parties and education and public awareness initiatives.

About The Role

Our client is seeking the engagement of a Cloud Network Engineer to support the uplift of current and future state network architecture across cloud services and on-premises environments. The successful candidate will assist with the transition to Cloud, contributing to long-term strategic planning, whilst also providing limited support to BAU and Agile Development teams.

It is a requirement of this position that the successful candidate must be an Australian Citizen and hold a Baseline security clearance.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Analysis, development and interpretation of complex telecommunications systes design and architecture

• Research, evaluation and monitoring of network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance

• Resolution of network issues and emergencies through the provision of specialist skills and advice

• Installation, configuration, testing and administration of new and upgraded networks and applications

• Monitoring of network traffic, activity, capacity and usage.

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

• Understand of maintenance and operation of traditional infrastructure, cloud networks and interconnectivity technology

• Ability to research, analysis, evaluate and monitor cloud network infrastructure

• Proven skills in networking and cloud network management and operation

• Ability to assist in troubleshooting active incidents and emergencies

• Knowledge of Infrastructure of Code concepts

• Knowledge and experience

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Knowledge/experience in DevOps team methodologies and techniques

• Experience configuring and maintaining FortiGate and Azure Firewalls

• Experience configuring Dynamic Routing Protocols such as BGP, OSPF

• Experience troubleshooting L4-7 application performance problems

• Experience maintaining DNS and DHCP network infrastructure
