
Senior Engineer (Algorithm)
Our client is a global software organisation with an office here in Melbourne. Due to growth, they are seeking a Senior Algorithm Engineer to join their team for an initial 6-month contract. The Senior Algorithm Engineer (Developer) is responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting software algorithms for multiple target tracking and detection systems. As an experienced member of the software delivery team the senior algorithm engineer may take a lead role in software projects or be assigned more complex deliverables than other members of the team.
Responsibilities:
- Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery.
- Provide technical leadership to teammates through delivery of quality solutions to technical problems.
- Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
- Assist in the collection and documentation of user’s requirements, development of user stories, estimates and work plans.
- Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
- Develop, enhance and maintain algorithms related to target tracking and detection systems.
- Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
- Package and support deployment of releases.
- Analyse and resolve technical and application problems.
Qualifications & Prerequisite Requirements:
- 7+ Years of enterprise software design skills with a focus on C++ and C#
- Must have a strong mathematics background
- Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Mathematics, or post graduate qualifications in mathematics
- Practical experience with multi-target tracking systems and algorithms.
- Development of software applications for real-time applications.
- Knowledge of radar signal processing would be advantageous
- Ability to work autonomously on complex technical problems.
- Experience with agile development methodologies including Kanban and Scrum.
- Good communication skills.
