Talent is recruiting for an experienced Senior Identity and Access Management Specialist to join our client in the Education Sector based in St Lucia, Brisbane on a long-term contract through until March 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed technical discovery of various IAM components such as systems of record ingestion, access policies, MFA services, SSO, federated services, etc.
  • Document and/or assist with documentation associated with detailed designs, key decision papers, options analysis, etc.
  • Conduct key stakeholder meetings with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Assist with the implementation of the new IAM platform and the associated services.
  • Assist with the transition of services from the current platform to the new platform.
  • Conduct and/or assist with reporting of technical elements for the project.
  • Collaborate strongly with the project manager, program architect, business analyst, implementation partner and operation support team.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance for the operational support teams.

Qualifications / Accreditations:

  • IAM related technical qualifications (eg: Okta Certified Professional or Azure Identity & Access Administrator)
  • Desirable: Bachelor of Information Technology (or similar degree)

Ideal Skills:

  • Centralised IAM solutions such as Okta, Ping ID, Entra ID, etc.
  • Downstream directory services such as Active Directory or similar
  • Multi-Factor Authentication systems
  • Passwordless authentication services
  • Business to Business (B2B) guest access
  • Consumer to Business (CSB) guest access (Social account access)
  • Identity Governance and Administration
  • SCIM (System for Cross-Domain Identity Management) user and group provisioning
  • Deep knowledge of standards and protocols such as SAML, OAuth, WS-FED, OpenID Connect, Kerberos.
  • Design and implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), and other access management models.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Knowledge of APIs and RESTful services for integrating IAM solutions with other enterprise applications.
  • Technical writing and documentation.
  • Translating technical details into business-friendly language.
  • Training and mentoring IT teams or end-users on the future IAM platform features and practices.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years’ experience working directly within an IAM team (or similar) as a technical specialist.
  • Created design specification documentation from start to completion.
  • Worked on large scale IAM projects.
  • 2+ years of experience in designing and deploying solutions on Microsoft Azure platform and experience in workload migrations.
  • Experience with public cloud platforms, including design, implementation and workload migration.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure services (IaaS and PaaS).
  • Understanding of the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework, Enterprise Scale Landing Zones and Well Architected Framework and incorporating into Azure designs
  • Desirable: A key technical resource on an IAM platform that has multiple systems of record (sources of truth).
  • Desirable: Worked in an IAM team within a university.
