Senior Process Control Engineer (FIFO) - Perth - Contract

Join a leading mining company with a strong focus on world-class operations and sustainability. We’re seeking a Senior Process Control Engineer to support new project developments and ensure seamless automation solutions for our fixed plant and mine site operations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Principal Instrumentation and PCS Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in delivering innovative process control solutions across our operations, including power, water, and non-process infrastructure (NPI). This position involves both hands-on work and providing technical guidance to ensure sustainable and efficient processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement process control systems for mining and fixed plant operations.
• Review and validate engineering designs and technical specifications.
• Resolve technical and design challenges while selecting appropriate components.
• Oversee control system contractors to ensure project deliverables.
• Develop and commission automation technologies for current and future projects.
• Enhance existing systems, recommending upgrades and driving best practices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and priorities.
• Hands-on programming with PLC and SCADA systems.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Control Systems, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in Control Systems or similar roles.
• Expertise in PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming (e.g., Ignition SCADA, Cimplicity, WinCC).
• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, PROFINET, Profibus, Modbus).
• Familiarity with functional safety principles and standards.
• Experience in designing and commissioning high-voltage DC systems.
• Highly advantageous: HME/Automotive and renewable energy project experience.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
