Talent International is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Officer to work for a NSW Government client based in Parramatta with WFH set-up. This is a 6-month contract with the view to be extended. The role is paying $650 per day + Super.

Hours – 8hours/day, 40hours/week

Description:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the program package(s).
  • Manage project scope, time, cost, quality, risk, and procurement to achieve project objectives.
  • Liaise with all internal & external stakeholders and lead the delivery of the assigned packages.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including consultants such as PMs, cost, procurement consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Accurate planning, updating, tracking, and reporting of budgets and forecasts related to the work packages.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards.
  • Manage and mentor a team of project professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management.
  • Mentor and assist with the professional development of more junior employees.
  • Visit project sites 2-4 times a month for progress inspection, site and/or community meetings.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong project management skills are required, including preconstruction planning, site selection, budgeting, designing, and planning approvals.
  • Experience managing multi-stakeholder environments and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
  • Proficient in financial and time management, essential for ensuring the successful delivery of the remaining project scope.
  • Knowledge of stakeholder management and strong communication skills are crucial.
  • Government experience is preferred, along with familiarity with AutoCAD.

Contact Details:

  • 6-month contract guaranteed, with a deadline of June 30, 2025, for project completion.
  • Must be available for frequent travel to northern NSW, typically once or twice a week. Flights are to Ballina or Coffs Harbour, followed by car rental for local transport.
  • Candidates need to be “plug-and-play” ready, with previous experience essential.
  • A white card is required for the position.
