Senior Project Officer

The Role:

Join a State Government team working to identify and evaluate sites for new buildings and centres. This team plays a critical role by assessing land for contamination, environmental and ecological considerations (flora and fauna), and cultural heritage impacts. This role is an initial 6 month contract with a strong possibility of extension / go permanent.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of potential development sites.
  • Analyse and report on environmental, ecological, and cultural heritage factors.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with planning and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations to support informed decision-making.

About You:

  • A background in Project Engineering or Environmental Engineering with experience in project management or officer roles.
  • Proven knowledge of land assessment processes, particularly contamination, ecological, and cultural heritage considerations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, ideally gained in local government or related sectors.
