We are seeking experienced Software Engineers to join a dynamic and innovative team within the Australian Federal Government. As a Development Expert, you will be responsible for designing, creating, testing, and documenting software components, while ensuring high-quality solutions align with business and technical requirements. This role will involve working with modern technologies and tools to develop complex systems, lead technical teams, and solve challenging problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop web/desktop applications, web services, and batch jobs using Java, Python, and .NET.
  • Collaborate with in-house technical staff to resolve complex application issues.
  • Lead software development activities including design, prototyping, unit testing, and maintenance.
  • Ensure the successful release and production support of software developments.
  • Communicate technical findings and solutions to team members and stakeholders.
  • Perform code reviews and execute unit tests on developed modules.

Essential Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience in object-oriented software development in complex IT environments.
  • Expertise in Java SE, Unix, SOL, and Google Web Toolkit (GWT).
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, tools, and release management.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience with software configuration management and deployment.
