Senior Support Analyst // Data Support Analyst

Our client is a Tier1 client in the Financial Services sector. They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Level 2 Data Support Analyst with expertise in PySpark and a solid understanding of financial markets. The ideal candidate will play a key role in providing technical support for data systems, resolving data-related issues, and optimizing data workflows. You will work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure the integrity and reliability of their data platforms, enabling efficient decision-making within the financial services sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 2 support for data-related issues across multiple data platforms and environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues, including data discrepancies, missing data, and system performance issues.
  • Collaborate with Level 1 support teams to resolve routine issues and escalate complex incidents when necessary.
  • Support data integration tasks across different systems and databases in financial applications.
  • Utilize PySpark for data processing and analysis, handling large datasets and ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues related to PySpark jobs and optimize execution.
  • Support the integration of financial market data into internal systems using APIs or other data protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., data engineers, analysts, and traders) to identify data requirements and implement solutions.
  • Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective communication with clients and teams regarding data issues and solutions.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a data support or similar role, with a strong understanding of data processing and support systems.
  • Proven experience with PySpark for data processing and analysis on large datasets.
  • Understanding of code and able to read code (PySpark) – A MUST.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, including financial instruments, market data, and trading systems.
  • Familiarity with database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and data integration tools.
  • Knowledge of financial data formats and market feeds (e.g., Murex, Caplypso, Broadway) is an advantage.
