Senior Systems Analyst

Opportunity

Day Rate $850-900 per day
Melbourne Location, other locations considered with work from home flexibility 2+ days per week
Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain Baseline AGSVA clearance required
Initial contract to late-April 2025 with 12-month options to extend beyond approved

A Federal Government Agency undergoing a technology uplift and transformation with multiple program streams, is seeking a talented Business Systems Analyst operating at senior level (Federal EL1) across the end-to-end project lifecycle. You may be working on one or multiple project streams across all areas including business case creation, solution-options, and deep dive analysis, POC’s, presentation of solution options, RFx and vendor selection, followed by detailed systems requirements analysis and delivery support through to SIT and UAT in the build and delivery stage.

Context

This is a large, nationally distributed department operating tech uplift programs across cloud applications and services, ERP, cyber security and data protection, EDW, and data lakes. This is a shared services environment where you may need to work with business and technology stakeholders across multiple federal departments. Ability to work to tight and fixed deadlines and within ambiguity and change is required. We are seeking senior level candidates with a proactive approach to research and problem solve, who can operate independently and thrive with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Assist with business case and procurement documentation and play an active role in product evaluation
Assist with procurement response evaluation (experience working within Commonwealth Procurement Rules and RFx processes ideal)
Engage effectively with business and technical stakeholders both internal and external to gather business requirements to take to market, and translate into technical requirements once the solution option has been selected
Present solution options which meet business requirements
Ensure clear communication throughout the project lifecycle
Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the final product meets the agreed-upon requirements

Areas to Demonstrate

Proven experience as a Business Architect, Business Analyst or Systems Analyst with a strong track record of stakeholder engagement across business and technical
Experience supporting Commonwealth procurement of cloud products and services
Business case development and RFx tender and response evaluation, POC, vendor selection
Ability to present solution options, pros and cons to the business and convey technical concepts to the business in a clear and articulate manner
A broad range of experience across various projects – technical background in cloud apps and products nice to have
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills at all levels – ability to present to Executive level audience
Previous experience in Government (federal or state).
Background in development or cloud infrastructure and services before moving into Business and Systems Analysis or Business Architecture
