Our Client

Our client is a federal department which is instrumental in the development and implementation of policies and programs to ensure Australia’s farming, fisheries, food, and forestry industries remain sustainable, profitable, and competitive, and supports the sustainable and productive use of water resources. They employ approximately 5000 staff across offices, airports, mail centres, shipping ports, laboratories and abattoirs in capital cities, regional centres, and rural communities nationwide.

The Role

As a test analyst, you should have a working knowledge of software and test design, the capability to run through tests, and the ability to analyse the results. Ultimately, the software tester should be result-driven, have good communication skills, and up-to-date knowledge of software programming and software test design. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Test updates and maintenance of existing Biosecurity systems to ensure smooth, uniform user experience across varied platforms
  • Test enterprise-grade software applications built using .Net and SQL Server technologies
  • Develop and maintain complex manual tests in DevOps and use automation tools such as Tosca
  • Work closely with members of their Agile team including Developers and Testers to understand the functionality under test
  • Follow best practice test techniques when developing and executing tests
  • Produce and maintain detailed test artefacts and report on testing
  • Test SOAP and REST web services for internal system-to-system integration and B2G integration
  • Perform defect management adhering to department`s process
  • Experience with webservices including WSDLs, XML Schemas & XML payloads
  • Experience with Swagger, Postman and Soap UI.

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative software testing, taking responsibility for managing and performing testing activities independently with well-developed testing skills (test planning, analysis and test case writing, test execution, defect management and reporting)
  • Strong ability in understanding and analysing business requirements/user stories from a software development viewpoint
  • Strong experience working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver test deliverables with the goal of delivering business-fit solutions
  • Demonstrated experience as a software tester worked on database systems including SQL.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in written and oral form with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge/experience with: * Microsoft DevOps, Azure portal, Dynamics 365, SharePoint online * ISTQB Certification * Tosca experience * Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban * Azure DevOps Repos, Boards, Artifacts, and Pipelines.

It is a requirement of this position that the successful candidate must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
